Inventory Your System

It is advisable to have an inventory of your HVAC system. An HVAC engineer or other HVAC maintenance professional can help draw up a description and an inventory of the parts of your system, including the sensors and controls. Information about past modifications should be gathered, as well. Any previous system drawings should be collected and archived. Consider this to be the equivalent of the catalogue and inventory records for collection objects. The description and inventory and any drawings that are found will be important tools in devising maintenance plans and in determining when and how the HVAC system may need extensive upgrades or replacement.
